Happy New Year

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I had fun... well as much fun as you can have when not drinking on New Year's Eve lol Went to my brother's girlfriend's house for a small bash.

I am now 29 weeks along. Took a picture early in the day on New Year's Eve... please excuse the dirty state of my bathroom mirror lol

29 weeks

Been getting some knitting done. Made my hubby some socks for Xmas... don't have any pictures of them... will have him model them for me tomorrow. Also, I have started OpArt for my sister, about half way along on that.

Teaching

Not much actual knitting has been going on lately but the little girl I mentioned is coming over later today for me to teach her how to knit. I will be sure to take pictures and such while she is here.

Belle Beret

Pattern: Belle Beret by Ysolda

Yarn: Knit Picks Andean Treasure [1 1/2 balls]

Needles: US 5 and 6 Denise Interchangeables

Notes: I followed the pattern except for the elastic. I really enjoyed knitting it, I especially love the band. I originally knitted it for my best friend for Christmas but loved it so much I made another for myself.

In Progress:

In Action:

When I finally send Nikita's to her I will make sure she takes pictures of her wearing it so I can put them up as well.

Minimalist Cardigan

Started on this yesterday. It is the Minimalist Cardigan from Fall 2007 Interweave Knits. Knitting it in Caron Simply Soft Heathers in Deep Plum. I really wanted something simple and kinda mindless to work on while catching up on my TiVo'd shows. So far it is serving its purpose. Took a little calculating to get gauge cause I have noticed in the past that Simply Soft relaxes quite a bit after washing and i didn't want it to grow too much on me.

So last night I met a friend's 10 year old daughter who got really excited when she found out that I knit, apparently she crochets and has been wanting to learn to knit but didn't know anyone who knew how. So I told her I would teach her. I am kinda excited, she's sweet and seems really smart. I am sure she will pick it up pretty fast and it should be fun.
